About the Company

GoldStar Communications is wholly owned affiliate of the New Knoxville Telephone Company. In 1906, the New Knoxville Telephone Company was founded to provide the area residents with local telephone service. Privately held by mostly local residents, the New Knoxville Telephone company has continued to grow and serve the communications needs of its customers for the past 95 years.

In 1985, the New Knoxville Telephone Company started NKTELCO, Inc., the affiliated cable television company. NKTELCO currently serves, New Knoxville, New Bremen, and Minster, Ohio. NKTELCO also offers advanced high-speed dedicated Internet service.

GoldStar Communications was started in 2001 to provide telecommunications, video, and data services outside of the current serving areas of New Knoxville Telephone Company and NKTELCO. Under the federal and state laws, it was necessary to create an affiliated telephone company in order to extend our services.

GoldStar was started with the philosophy that good service, at good rates, does not need to be complicated for the customer. Our goal is to meet your needs and exceed your expectations. We are proud of our nearly 100 years of low cost, high quality service and believe our new GoldStar customers will enjoy those same benefits. GoldStar’s network is, from the start, a state-of-the-art fiber-optic and coaxial-fiber hybrid network. We believe the combination of advanced technology with old-fashioned service and quality is a winning team.
